Pick up sticks is a game that dates back thousands of years, but it’s still just as much fun today! All you need is a bunch of sticks — about 3 dozen should do the trick — and some kindling for kindling the fire. The object of the game is to pick up all your sticks without burning yourself or letting any fall into the fire pit. If you’re playing with younger kids, start out by letting them burn one stick at a time (and let them choose which one). As they get older and more experienced its great.

Egg Relay Race

Divide your group into 2 teams and have each team line up on opposite sides of a space about 20 feet apart. Give each team an egg, then send one member from each team down the line. The first person from each team runs all the way through the other team and gives their teammate back their egg (without dropping it). The next person runs all the way back to where they started with their new egg while their teammate runs down through the other team and gives theirs back as well. Continue until everyone has gone twice (some may go more than once depending on how many people are involved). Record how quickly each team completed their relay race and award prizes accordingly.

You don’t need to do much for a party for this age group. The main thing is to keep it fun and lighthearted, and remember that they’ll probably be tired after a morning of Easter egg hunting.
