Start small. Pick one room at a time and tackle it from top to bottom. Don’t worry about other rooms until this one is finished. Clean out the closet, drawer or shelf that needs attention first, then move on to the next one on your list.
If you have a lot of stuff, start with just one area of clutter and work through it systematically – clothes first, then kitchen supplies, then books etc. You may find that once you get started decluttering an area, other areas begin to fall into place automatically as well as you clear out space for them!
Don’t stop until everything is clean and tidy! This means everything – every nook and cranny should be cleaned out so there’s nothing left but bare essentials (see tip #8 below). If something is still bothering you even after cleaning out an area thoroughly then put it back where
