Valentines day is just around the corner and it’s time to get your heart ready for love. Make sure you are prepared and that your home is ready for this special holiday. A Valentines Day wreath can be a great way to decorate your front door and welcome all your guests into your home. It also makes a great gift for someone special in your life.
Here are some ideas of how you can create a beautiful Valentines Day wreath:
A heart shaped wreath or bow is always a good choice for Valentines Day decorations. You can use red, pink or even white spray paint if you don’t want to buy fake flowers or beads.
You can also use real flowers and make them into a heart shape by cutting off their stems and placing them on top of each other in a circle shape with the ends facing down towards the center of the circle (as shown above). Then place bows around each flower stem so they look like they are part of the wreath itself instead of just loose decorations hanging on top of it.
If you have any old books lying around then why not turn them into bookmarks? Simply write “Be Mine” on one side and stick it
How to Make a Wreath in 5 Easy Steps
- Gather your supplies, including a foam wreath form and red ribbon or velvet ribbon. If you want to add flowers, choose silk flowers that can be dyed with food coloring.
- Cut the foam wreath into the shape of a heart, or any other shape you desire. You can also use floral wire to attach metal shapes like leaves or hearts to the foam wreath base.
- Create your own stencils by tracing around objects onto paper and cutting out the shapes with an X-acto knife or scissors if using an object that isn’t flat enough for a stencil. Use fabric paint (available at craft stores) or marker pens (available at office supply stores) to draw on the stenciled shapes directly onto your wreath form, then let dry according to instructions on paint cans. Once dry, remove stencils and admire your handiwork!
