If you want to go from being a regular person to dressing like a baddie, your glamorous first step is to decide what kind of baddie you will be. What are your most badass qualities? Do you have some extra swagger? Do people think that you’re intimidatingly sexy? A confident baddie is not afraid to work with what they’ve got. If you know that people think your look or personality is badass, don’t be afraid to amass the tools needed to exude those qualities in everything from your fashion choices to the way that you talk!
A good foundation is everything.
Start by building a good foundation. When it comes to foundation wear, think supportive and comfortable. Your bra is the most important part of this process, so make sure it fits correctly to ensure your breasts are lifted and there is no back or side spillage. If you need assistance finding the right fit, reach out to a store that specializes in women’s apparel for extra help. Next up is shapewear—also known as Spanx—to enhance your curves and give you a slim silhouette. If you’re buying shapewear for the first time, try on different sizes because it may be different from your regular size. As you get more comfortable with them, you might want to move on to styles with higher control options if you’re looking for more than just one-day shaping support.
When it comes to underwear, stay away from white cotton panties that can show through lighter colored clothing (a big no-no). While thongs are great at preventing panty lines and are perfect under some outfits, they aren’t ideal for everyday wear; they can cause problems such as bacteria buildup and constant irritation when worn often over long periods of time (this is not ideal). Boy shorts provide medium coverage but also help prevent panty lines under tighter pants or jeans while still being comfortable enough for all day wear (yes!). Hipsters are another great choice as they sit lower on hips like boy shorts do while maintaining medium coverage in the rear (another yes!). Last but not least is hosiery or tights which come in sheer form or opaque form depending on whether you like some skin showing through or none at all: these can be found in any color imaginable including patterned varieties that add an extra pop of interest to an outfit!
Invest in a pair of really good boots
A good pair of boots is an investment piece. If you invest in a good pair, they’re going to last you so long that it’ll be well worth the cost. When buying boots, you want to look for quality over quantity. Boots are a versatile footwear choice that can be worn with almost anything and styled in many different ways. There is endless opportunity when purchasing boots and they are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe since they can be worn with pants, leggings and skirts or dresses.
There are several different types of boots and they each take on different characteristics based on their composition. There are ankle booties and knee high calf length boots which come with or without heels, wedges or flats. A popular style of boots these days is the over-the-knee but there’s also the edgy combat style boot that has made its way back into popularity. Each type of boot is designed for a certain purpose whether it’s for comfort, fashion or function. For example, if you live somewhere like New York City where snowfall occurs often during winter months then it may make sense to invest in some waterproof snow/winter boots like Sorel; however, if you live in a warmer climate year round then most likely those snow/winter boots would not fit into your lifestyle very well as it would not make sense to wear them during other seasons when it’s warm outside.
Wear black and white.
Black and white are always in style. They’re classic colors that can be worn in many different settings. Easily combine them with other colors to create looks that work for every occasion. Black and white also allows you to wear bold, colorful accessories so you can stand out from the crowd.
Keep it simple, but make it standout.
Wearing something super fancy is always a good option when it comes to dressing like a baddie. However, you can also keep your outfit simple and still look amazing. For example, you could wear a simple shirt with a pair of dark jeans and a pair of heels. If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, you could also wear a simple dress with a long necklace and a pair of flats. One more option would be to wear just a simple skirt with a simple top and then some heels as well! The best part about this is that these outfits are not going to cost you an arm and leg compared to those last minute expensive dresses people tend to buy when they need something fancy at the last minute!
Layers are key.
Layers are key to creating a baddie look. The best way to dress like a baddie is to incorporate conflicting fabrics into your outfits. This may mean combining leather and silk, cashmere and cotton, or any other material that may be considered an anomaly when put together.
A cardigan or blazer can also help balance out your outfit, especially if you’re wearing something more fitted, like a sweater. Your outerwear (including jackets, long coats and trench coats) is also important to nail when dressing like a baddie. A classic styling hack here is to experiment with different styles of outerwear in order to achieve the ultimate look. You can always try pairing your statement coat with a scarf for added flair and color!
You can’t go wrong with a good denim jacket and a crisp white button-up.
If you want to dress like a baddie, you can’t go wrong with a good denim jacket and crisp white button-up. This look is both versatile and classic. The denim jacket will go with everything from dress pants to shorts, as well as whatever color shirt you choose. It also adds some structure to your outfit and gives you the opportunity to add some interesting accessories (like suspenders or leather belts). The white button-up is another great option because it’s easy to pair with different things beyond just jeans—you could even wear it under another shirt if you wanted!
If this sounds like the perfect look for you, then remember that all of these components are interchangeable based on what kind of outfit or theme you want: try pairing them up with khakis instead of jeans, or maybe try wearing them separately so they each stand out individually instead of together in one outfit (try wearing one piece at a time!). This works especially well if there’s something specific about each part that catches your eye; maybe there’s an embroidered patch on one item that catches your eye first? Maybe there’s something unique about how one piece fits compared to others? If so then keep that in mind when deciding which pieces goes where in an ensemble!
Choose accessories wisely.
This is the easiest and most obvious way to choose accessories. If you’re not sure what to get, try a necklace or two, along with some rings, bracelets, earrings and headpieces. Hair accessories are also a must! Make sure you don’t overdo it though! Accessories can help add a touch of personal style to an outfit but too many will take away from your overall look.
Just because you’re wearing black doesn’t mean you can’t experiment with different textures and fabrics.
When dressing like a baddie, there are few rules. However, wearing black is practically mandatory. This may seem boring or unimaginative, but truth be told, the only limits to rocking an all-black outfit are self-imposed. Just because you’re wearing black doesn’t mean you can’t experiment with different textures and fabrics. Even as a diehard fan of velvet (I have it in every color—but especially black), I don’t limit myself to just one fabric when I want to achieve the baddie look. Combining different fabrics can add interest and dimension to your look; for example, pairing a chunky knit sweater with leather pants or topping off your all-over denim look with a silk shirt will make you stand out without looking like a Clone Trooper in Star Wars.
Similarly, adding pops of color is not off the table if you want to dress like a baddie—and these accents can be anything from shoes to jewelry or hair accessories. In fact, my favorite way of incorporating color into an otherwise monochromatic outfit is through lipstick.
Wear T-shirts all the damn time.
- Throw on a tee with some jeans.
- Pair a shirt with a skirt—and maybe some heels, if you feel like it.
- Try the ever-classic t-shirt and black pants combo.
- Elevate your look with a suit, but feel free to ditch the tie.
- If it’s warm out, consider wearing your t-shirt with some shorts for an effortlessly cool look.
- If it’s cold out, layer up underneath that t-shirt—but don’t forget to top it off with a sweater or jacket!
Everyone needs a good pair of platform sneakers in their life . . . or four.
If you’re anything like me, you have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable and don’t make your feet look like stumpy little trees. Luckily for all of us, the trend for platform sneakers is on the rise. Platforms can take any shoe from casual to formal (or semi-formal), and they’re not just for girls anymore.
This style has been around since the 70s but has only recently come back into style as a key element of baddie fashion: it’s more than just an accessory—it’s also an accessory that makes you look taller! That has to be important when trying to hide how short we all feel in comparison to our opponents in life.
Platform sneakers are also popular because they come in so many different styles: there are lace-ups, slip-ons, boots—even flip flops! And if there’s one thing I know about clothing choices it’s this: everyone looks better when they’re wearing flip flops (except maybe my ex).
