If you’re like me, your Halloween costume selection process is about finding something that’s as fun and specific as possible without being too obscure or expensive. You want people to get it—and you want them to appreciate its cleverness.
That’s why I’ve spent the last few weeks scouring the internet for all sorts of option: from my favorite classic film characters to modern television shows, from celebrities whose likenesses have been turned into costumes by companies looking for an easy sell (think Kim Kardashian) to everyday people who’ve become famous because they do something unique (like Elle Woods).

The Great Gatsby
The 1920s was a time of great change in American society.
People were exuberant about the new era and started to break away from old traditions and ideas. The term “roaring 20s” was actually coined by F. Scott Fitzgerald, who used it to describe the decade with the title of his most famous novel, The Great Gatsby (1925). It was during this time that Americans realized that their economy could be powered by industrialization, and they began to move away from small towns toward big cities where there was more opportunity for jobs (and also partying!). Women also got jobs outside of their homes as well as men did so that couples could share responsibilities equally at home and work.
This era gave birth to some important fashion trends like flapper dresses made out of silk or satin fabric with wide shoulders underneath which showed off an ample bust line while leaving arms exposed above elbow length gloves or stockings wrapped around calves above knee length dresses made out of silk or satin fabrics worn over loose pants called “peggy” pants because they resembled petticoats but these were hidden under long skirts usually made out cotton material with pleating along bottom edge which gave them shape/style without having any actual design detailings such as pleating along side seams adding extra width covered up by large hats decorated with feathers.
Kim Possible
Here’s what you’ll need to pull off this costume:
- A red and black suit. This can be a jacket and pants, or a dress shirt and slacks. For women, red is the most popular color for these accessories.
- Red/black hair (or at least part of your hair). If you have short hair, then just add some temporary coloring! Remember that your hair doesn’t have to look perfect; we’re going for an edgy Kim Possible look here!
- A red/black backpack with plenty of pockets. The more pockets it has, the better!
Thing 1 and Thing 2
If you’re trying to find a costume that will stand out from the crowd, then look no further than Thing 1 and Thing 2. These two tiny blue creatures with orange hair are inseparable friends of the Cat in the Hat. They may not be as popular as Olaf or Buzz Lightyear, but they can still make for great costumes!
Fruit Salad and a Banana
If you’re looking for a creative, funny and easy-to-make couples costume idea, a fruit salad and banana are your answer. This is an easy one to make with your partner. All you need are 2 cardboard boxes that can be found at any store and some paint or markers (and maybe some glue). You can also get creative by decorating your costumes with paper or fabric decorations; the possibilities are endless! Your friends will be laughing when they see how silly/cute this couple’s costume idea is!
A Ghost
A ghost is the perfect costume for Halloween! You can be a ghost of your choice, whether you choose to go scary or funny. You can also make it as literal as possible by dressing up as someone who has died or someone who you are missing dearly.
If you want to go the extra mile, don’t forget that ghosts are also known for their long robes and white faces. If this is not your style but still want a ghostly look, pick out some long black clothes that fit well in all areas (they should be loose enough so they don’t limit movement). Bring along some fake blood and paint so that when people ask which character you’re dressed as or why there’s blood on your face, you’ll have an answer ready at hand!
The Periodic Table of Elements
The elements are the building blocks of matter, and they’re arranged in groups called families. The families have similar properties because they are made of the same type of element (hydrogen, oxygen, carbon). The first column is known as Group 1 (1A), and it’s made up of hydrogen, helium and lithium.
The second column is known as Group 2 (2A), and it contains beryllium, boron and carbon.
The third column is known as Group 3 (3A), containing nitrogen, phosphorous and arsenic.
The fourth column is known as Group 4 (4A), containing fluorine through neon; this group has two rows on the periodic table because its members usually form compounds with other elements rather than existing independently in nature like atoms from groups 1–3 do; you may have seen neon signs or florescent lights before!
Snapchat filter and Elle Woods
Now that you’ve picked out a costume and have a few ideas for accessories to go with it, you may want to consider a Snapchat filter. If your favorite movie is Legally Blonde, why not incorporate it into your Halloween costume? Elle Woods’s pink peepers will make you look cuter than ever!
A Flashlight and a Dead Battery
If you have a flashlight and a dead battery, then you have everything you need for the perfect halloween costume.
To make this costume, start by wearing black clothes. Then, wear a white mask. Next, attach your flashlight to your head (we recommend using duct tape). Finally, add a battery to your body—you can either tape it on with duct tape or glue it on with superglue (be careful not to get any of this on you; it could cause injuries). If done correctly and safely, these steps will create an impressive Flashlight and Dead Battery Halloween Costume that is sure to turn heads on Halloween night!
Cereal Killer and Milk
- Get a cereal box costume: Most people think of the fun, happy side of Halloween when they think about cereal. This is why it’s so popular among kids! A crisp, bright box with cartoon characters like the Trix Rabbit or Tony the Tiger is sure to make your child smile when she sees it in her closet or hanging on the door.
- Get a milk carton costume: For those who want to take their costume game up a notch (for example, if they’re going trick-or-treating), consider purchasing a plastic gallon jug (available at any place that sells dairy products). If you have time before Halloween night, use yellow paint and some stencils to create an eye-catching design on top of your container—choose something festive like “Jolly Rancher” or “Cupid.” You could even add some words that say things such as “Only 1% Full!” or “Bargain Basement Drink” for extra effect.
- Get a bowl of cereal costume: Another option is wearing nothing but an empty bowl over your head! You can fill it with whatever type of cereal suits your fancy—from Lucky Charms to Chocopie Crunchies®, there’s no wrong choice here. You might want something colorful though; after all, we’re celebrating fall and there are plenty of autumnal leaves around which will help bring out any reds/yellows/greens in both their clothing choices as well as anything else they might be carrying around with them (e.g., pumpkins).
Your Group of Friends
If you and your friends want to dress up as a group, here are some ideas for you.
- If all of you like the same thing, try going as that thing. For example, if all of you love pizza, go as pizzas! Or if all of you love cats, go as cats!
- If some of the members of your group have similar interests but not exactly the same one as everyone, consider creating a mashup costume based on those shared interests. For example: if two people in your group love Star Wars and another one loves Doctor Who and another one loves baseball (or any other sport), go as Stormtroopers playing baseball (or whatever sports they like). The possibilities are endless!
- You could also mix-and-match different costumes from different fandoms by picking out specific elements from each fandom that best represent what each person has found interesting about them individually—like maybe this guy likes Harry Potter because he thinks Hermione is cool; that girl really likes Marvel movies because she thinks Black Widow is cool; this other guy really likes Star Wars because he just wants to know why Darth Vader screams so much during lightsaber duels; etcetera etcetera etcetera…
Chip and Joanna Gaines and the Fixer Upper house they flipped
If you’ve ever seen Chip and Joanna Gaines on Fixer Upper, then you know that the couple loves to flip houses.
If you haven’t seen them on Fixer Upper, then go watch it immediately!
Anyway, a few years ago the Gaineses flipped a house that they lived in for two decades into a major renovation project. The result was an incredibly dramatic transformation—from shabby chic to modern farmhouse. It’s basically the best thing that could happen to any home—or Halloween costume idea!
You want to be a fun, not-obvious-at-all group costume, but not break the bank in the process.
There are a lot of Halloween costumes out there and they all look so cool. But sometimes you have to be realistic about your budget, your time limitations and what type of costume will make you happy on Halloween night.
We’ve got some ideas that are easy to put together, don’t require any props or special makeup effects and are comfortable enough for long hours of trick-or-treating in the cold weather.

What should I be for Halloween college girl?
If you’re a college girl, then you know that Halloween is one of the most fun holidays of the year. You can dress up as anything you want, and nobody will judge you for it!
But many people have no idea what to be for Halloween. They often feel like they have to dress up as something sexy or sexy-ish, when really there are so many other options out there!
Here are some ideas for Halloween costumes for college girls:
A doctor: This costume is great if you have a white coat from an internship or work experience. If not, try to find a white medical coat at a thrift store or Goodwill. Add some scrubs underneath, and carry around an old stethoscope (or get one of those cheap ones at Party City). Make sure to accessorize with some fake blood and a lollipop!
A nurse: Same thing as above, but add some fishnets and maybe even some heels if you want! This is another easy way to go sexy without actually being sexy – just pair it with some cute shoes and it’s perfect!
Do people wear Halloween costumes in college?
Yes, people do wear Halloween costumes in college. It is usually more of a party atmosphere at the school I go to, so people are more willing to dress up than they would be at a bar or club. People usually dress up as characters from movies or television shows.
I think it would be fun to dress up with your friends and go out on Halloween night. It can be really fun if you get creative with your costume, or if you are trying to impress someone. If you go out with your friends and have a great time, then it makes it worth it!
Conclusion

Whether it’s dressing up as a famous celebrity or wearing something completely out there, there are so many possibilities! Whether it’s a couples costume or just with friends, the possibilities are endless.
