How to dress up as Elsa
Elsa’s dress is one of the most iconic costumes in Disney history. With her long, wavy blonde hair, blue eyes and ice powers, Elsa proved that she was just as much a Disney princess as Cinderella was.
While Elsa’s costume may seem simple at first glance, there are actually several layers to it that contribute to its overall elegance.
Luckily for you, we’ve found all the materials and techniques needed to create a convincing Elsa dress at home!
Use white thread and a needle to attach the trim to the edges.

To create the trim, use white thread and a needle to attach the trim to the edges. You can use a sewing machine or needle and thread. Either way, take your time and make sure that you have a nice even amount of fabric in each row. If you are starting from scratch and making your own pattern, then it is important that you keep track of how many stitches are going into each row so that when you fold it over for sewing onto the dress there is an equal amount on both sides.

- Use a piece of cardboard that is at least 1/4 inch thick and 8 inches wide for your Elsa costume.
Repeat for each section of your cape.
Cut out the shape of your cape, with a small notch at one end to allow for the neckline. Glue the edges together, then wrap it around yourself so that you can see how long it needs to be. Trim off any excess material and glue it down.
Next, cut out two rectangles large enough to cover each shoulder area and another rectangle slightly smaller than those two combined that will go across your chest as an X (with no need for trim). Attach these pieces where they belong using hot glue or a sewing machine (if you’re feeling ambitious!).
Glue the top of your cape together. Create an opening at the top by placing only one side of your cape material under the other side before you glue.
Take the two sides of your cape material and lay them on top of each other, lining up all edges. Apply glue to one side of the material and then fold it over so that both sides are now glued together. The part where you applied the glue should be hidden by a fold in one of the sides. Repeat this step on the other side so that both ends are touching each other but there is still space between them at the top (see picture).
Remove any excess material from this seam before moving on to step 3!
Add two to three folds of tulle together and tie them together at one end with a piece of ribbon or string.
To create the tutu, you will need two to three folds of tulle together and tie them together at one end with a piece of ribbon or string. You can use a hair tie or even just a long strip of fabric tied in the middle to make it look like an actual bow.

Place that strand of tulle on top of another strand. Then, add on another strand. Continue until you have a large, round circle of tulle with ribbons coming out in all directions.
If you’re looking to make a tutu, there are a few different ways to do it. This simple method can be done with any length of tulle and is great for children, babies and pets who are going as Elsa this Halloween.
First, measure the circumference of your waist or hips (depending on where you want the tutu to begin) using a tape measure. Add about 2 inches for seam allowance for each strand of tulle going horizontally across your body. Cut that length in half and lay out one piece vertically from the top of your head down to just above where you want the tutu to end (this will be about 22″ long). Repeat this step until 30 pieces have been cut; then cut 5 more pieces at 13″ long (this will leave enough extra space so that they can come together without overlapping too much). Remove all but two strands with 2″ left on them, creating two large circles with spaces between each circle allowing them all connect together later on once they’re finished sewing into place around their waistline area vertically instead horizontally like before where only had one strand

Mark how long you want your dress to be by placing tape on the long edges at the shoulder marker, waist marker, and hip marker. Then, use scissors to cut down those lines. Make sure that you have left enough room for the seams.

Measure from one shoulder over to your opposite hip, then back up to your other shoulder. Cut out this length from a large piece of fabric that’s been folded in half (so it’s double as thick). Do this twice more so you have 3 pieces total – one for each layer of your skirt (or dress).

The fabric should be light weight, soft and silky. Use a stretchy material if you can find one. The cheaper the better! I bought mine at Wal-Mart for $2 per yard. Remember to get enough! You don’t want to run out halfway through sewing the outfit together!

How does Elsa change her dress?
How does Elsa change her dress?
Elsa’s dress changes color from blue to white, it changes length from short to long and it also changes shape from square to round. But the most amazing thing about her dress is that when she is cold, the fabric becomes icy and frosty; however, when she warms up again it goes back to normal. This can be done by heating up a cup of hot chocolate or putting on some warm clothes before leaving your house!
When Elsa first puts on her winter cape/coat during “Let It Go” in Frozen (2013), she takes it off at one point near the end of the song so that everyone can see just how beautiful she looks in real life without any fancy clothes covering up her lovely figure!
